Further development of a spatial framework for mapping ecosystem services 2014

Abstract

The ecosystem services approach is a key element of planning for sustainable development. Phase one of this project (Spatial framework for assessing evidence needs for operational ecosystem approaches (JNCC Report No. 469) identified habitat attributes which influence ecosystem services.

Phase two continued on from this work to quantify and value ecosystem services, focusing on simplifying the identification of services; drawing on available data in a clear, robust and structured way.

The report is accompanied by five briefing papers, a user manual, and a Microsoft Access database.
