A model of levels of sampling to drive the evolution of sampling schemes (The UK Terrestrial Biodiversity Surveillance Strategy) 2009

Abstract

This document was produced as part of JNCC’s 2009 UK Terrestrial Biodiversity Surveillance Strategy. Whilst the strategy has now been superseded, this document may still be useful to refer to.

This report sets out a ‘surveillance hierarchy’ to help in the choice of the most appropriate scale for surveillance according to the nature of the question, level of evidence required and scales and nature of impacts.

Please note, this resource accompanies a series of other resources which together constitute the UK Terrestrial Biodiversity Surveillance and Monitoring Strategy 2009.
