Profile

Dr David Cooper is a Visiting Fellow at Oxford Martin School, the Leverhulme Centre for Nature Recovery and the University of Oxford. He played a key role as deputy Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity in agreeing the seminal Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework – the 'Paris moment for nature'.

David joined the Joint Committee as Independent Chair on 1 June 2025. His appointment will run for 3 years until 31 May 2028.
