DPLUS119 WP3: Marine indicators to monitor changes in coastal-marine natural capital – Recommendations for Future Development of Marine Indicators 2023

Abstract

The ‘Technical assistance programme for effective coastal-marine management in the Turks and Caicos Islands’ project is a three-year project funded through Darwin Plus (DPLUS119). The aim of the programme is to improve the evidence base in marine and coastal environments to support sustainable coastal marine management in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI).

Work Package 3 (WP3) – Marine indicators to monitor changes in coastal-marine natural capital – is exploring potential options for marine ecological indicators, maximising the use of existing data, to support decision making and the implementation of a new TCI Government Environment Strategy.

This report, produced through WP3, explores potential options for future development and testing of marine biodiversity indicators.
