Sri Lanka Protected Area Management Effectiveness (PAME) assessment 2025

Abstract

Protected Area Management Effectiveness (PAME) using METT-4 assessments is a tool used globally to measure the impact of management actions on protected areas.

The OCPP have supported two phases of METT-4 assessments in Sri Lanka. From the first phase completed in 2024, OCPP contracted Inbound Hype to develop summary posters and leaflets for each completed assessment in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Department for Wildlife Conservation.

Posters and leaflets are available for the following areas, in English, Tamil and Sinhala:

  • Adam's Bridge National Park
  • Great Basses and Little Basses Sanctuary
  • Kalpitiya Bar Reef Marine Sanctuary
  • Kayankerni Marine Sanctuary
  • Pigeon Island National Park
