Review of the UK Biodiversity Indicators, Part 2: Responding to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework 2024

Abstract

This report covers the second part (Part 2) of a comprehensive review of the UK Biodiversity Indicators (UKBIs), a suite of 24 indicators that consist of 52 measures that were, in general, designed for reporting to the Aichi Targets of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

The review has been conducted by JNCC and Defra, and has been prompted by the agreement of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), alongside a desire to consider broader improvements to the UK Biodiversity Indicators (UKBI) publication.
