A roadmap for the Blue Green Infrastructure (BGI) Manual – Bridging the knowledge gap in the field of BGIs 2019

Abstract

This report scopes the content and structure of a Blue Green Infrastructure (BGI) Manual to guide the implementation of current biodiversity and resilience research in the design, construction and maintenance of blue-green infrastructure.

In order to further understanding of BGI-related scientific knowledge and the application of this knowledge into practice, the following components, described in the Manual, were considered: trend analysis; stakeholder analysis; precedent research; and data assembly.

The Manual targets a number of selected groups, namely: policymakers and decision makers in regional and local area development; project managers responsible for delivery of specific strategic infrastructure; designers working on projects at all scales; construction managers; and operatives, maintenance managers, and staff.

An executive summary accompanies the main report.
