Terms of Reference for the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee 2024

Abstract

JNCC’s Audit and Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC) is an advisory and commissioning committee which supports and advises the Joint Committee and the Accounting Officer on issues of risk, control, governance and assurance. It promotes a climate of financial discipline and internal control and oversees arrangements to attain value for money, regularity and propriety and reduce the risks of financial or other mismanagement.

The terms of reference outline ARAC's role and purpose in more detail.

The terms of reference are formally reviewed every two years. The next review will be in November 2025. Note that some updates to the terms of reference, such as membership changes, may be undertaken in between formal reviews.
