Scottish Marine Protected Areas – WMS layer 2020
This resource relates to a Web Map Service (WMS) layer showing Marine Protected Area boundaries in Scottish waters. It was last updated in September 2020. JNCC has compiled this dataset using data from JNCC, NatureScot and the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office.
Scottish Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are designated under the Marine (Scotland) Act and the UK Marine and Coastal Access Act. They are part of a range of measures to manage and protect Scotland’s seas for current and future generations.
The layer is available to view on the JNCC MPA mapper and can also be accessed via our WMS: https://mpa-ows.jncc.gov.uk/mpa_mapper/wms
