Common Standards Monitoring Guidance for Coastal 2004


The guidance given here deals with common standards monitoring (CSM) for those designated sites, including SSSIs and SACs, that specifically identify Coastal aspects as a site feature (given under four broad headings: Coastal vegetated shingle, Sand dune (including machair), Saltmarsh and Maritime cliff and slope).

This guidance identifies a set of generic attributes to assess status of the feature, highlighting those attributes that should be used on all sites, and those that are site-specific (discretionary) to be used to reflect local distinctiveness;
