Report on the Species and Habitat Review (UK BAP) 2007

Abstract

The Report on the Species and Habitat Review was produced by the Biodiversity Reporting and Information Group (BRIG) for the UK BAP UK Standing Committee in 2007.

The aim of the Species and Habitat Review was to ensure that the UK BAP remained focussed on the correct priorities for action and took account of changes in the status of UK biodiversity in addition to new information and knowledge. This was the first full review of the UK BAP priority list, and through the review the original list of UK BAP priority species and habitats, produced between 1995 and 1999, was assessed and updated.

The following documents are also provided here, to accompany the report:

  • the UK BAP List of Priority Habitats and Species spreadsheet (V1.4 2010).
  • the Selection Criteria spreadsheet, which describes the criteria used to select species, and provides the details and justification for the selection of each individual priority species.
  • the De-listed Species spreadsheet, which contains the details of the species which were de-listed as a result of the review.

The list of priority species is also available as a series of tables, split by taxonomic group.

Please note: due to the age of these documents, some of the weblinks contained within the text may no longer function.
