This project aimed to improve understanding of the global environmental footprint and impacts of commodities that are consumed within Wales, but that may be produced anywhere in the world. Understanding this is key to addressing both the climate and nature emergencies, and to meeting the requirements set out in Wales’ Well-being of Future Generations Act.

Accompanying report is an annex (Annex 1), which provides an introduction to consumption based metrics in a Welsh context, This is provided in PDF format, with an accompanying text-only version (PDF).

The following datasets are also provided:

  • Datasheet 1: Copies of Figures 1 to 16 with accompanying data tables.
  • Datasheet 2: GEIC Indicators Phase 1 and Phase 2.
  • Datasheet 3: Datasets for Maize, Soy and Timber.
