UK Biodiversity Action Plan: Priority Habitat Descriptions (2008, revised 2011) 2011

Abstract

After two years of work, involving over 500 people, the revised UK List of Priority Species and Habitats was published in the Report on the Species and Habitat Review in June 2007. This list contained over 1,000 species and 65 habitats that were listed as priorities for conservation action under the UK Biodiversity Action Plan (UK BAP).

This document contains habitat descriptions for each of the 65 UK BAP priority habitats included on the list. These span the terrestrial, freshwater and marine environments.

The document was first published in 2008, and subsequently revised in 2011, following updates to the descriptions for 'Open Mosaic Habitats on Previously Developed Land' in 2010, and 'Rivers' and 'Wood-Pasture and Parkland' in 2011.
